Japan's longest serving Prime Minister Shinzo Abe confirmed d€ad, after multiple gunshots at campaign event Former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe has d!ed, according to Japan's national broadcaster. Abe, 67, who remains Japan's longest serving prime minister, was shot while giving a campaign speech on Friday, July 8 . The suspected attacker reported to be a man in his 40s was tackled at the scene by the Japanese secret service personnel and arrested. The motive for the attack is yet to be determined. Abe sustained wounds on the right side of his neck and left clavicle after being shot. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was "deeply distressed by the attack" and described Abe as a "dear friend". In Australia, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his country's "thoughts are with [Abe's] family and the people of Japan at this time". A Lagos State High Court on Thursday, July 7, sentenced a couple, Fortune and Steve Nwankwo, to 16 years imprisonment for the involuntary manslaughter of their 19-year-old maid, Joy Adole.     Both were accused of killing Adole on April 20, 2020, at their residence located at No. 18, Ogundola St., Bariga, Lagos. They however, denied the allegation, claiming that Adole committed su!cide by hanging herself in her bedroom. It was built on waterways- Gov Soludo speaks on demolition of Odumeje's church The Anambra State governor, Charles Soludo, has confirmed it authorized the demolition of the church of popular Pastor Chukwuemeka Odumeje. In a press release signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Gov Soludo said Odumeje's church and other buildings marked for demolition failed to comply with the government directive to remove the illegal structure built on waterway.
