El-Rufai Sends Strong Message To Igbos.


Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, says although he believes the South should produce the next President, the people of the South-East must note that they cannot get the Presidential seat by threatening others with secession.

El-Rufai further stated that politics has to do with negotiations and convincing others why they should vote for you.

He, therefore, stated that the Igbo would need to adopt this approach if they want their son to succeed the current President.


The governor said this during a webinar organised by the Africa Leadership Group. The event which was tagged: ‘Developing a Viable Nation 2’ was hosted by Pastor of Trinity House church Ituah Ighodalo.

He noted that no region in Nigeria can attain the Presidency without the support of others.

The governor advised those who want to be President to get on the road and convince people that you mean well for them.

He, however, explained that the All Progressives Congress is weak in the South-East which may not favour the region.

Reps Probes Goodluck Jonathan.

Following the increasing level of insecurity, and the abduction of students in the country, the House of Representatives have decided to probe the immediate past President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Johnathan over an abandoned school project.


According to Punch; the lawmakers resolved to investigate the ex-leader over a “N2 billion Safe School Initiative alongside other donations from other countries and organizations in 2014.”

President Buhari Speaks.

Present Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said some persons are not working for the progress of Nigeria and are mercilessly against the country.

The president stated this on Friday during the 6th regular meeting with the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC), led by Professor Doyin Salami at the State House, Abuja.

In a statement by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari lamented the recalcitrant nature of some Nigerians who refused to obey established laws.

Buhari's Aide Slams South-East Over Insecurity.

Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie has blamed leaders in the South-East for the current security crisis rocking the region.

Onochie who stated this via a tweet on her verified Twitter handle on Friday claimed the inability of the leaders to caution the youths against crimes caused the killings.

The president’s aide was reacting to the recent attack in Orlu, Imo State where about eight suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB were killed.

DAILY POST had reported that hoodlums suspected to be members of the IPOB, attacked the police divisional headquarters on Thursday night.

The joint security operatives who engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel killed eight of the attackers and recovered seven vehicles.

Reacting, Onochie said the South-East leaders only attack the president but fail to instil value in their youths.

11 ESN, IPOB Operatives Killed In Imo.

The Nigerian Army has said that its troops shot dead a gang of 11 Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives during a shootout in Orlu town in Imo State.

The army said on Friday that the ESN gunmen had attempted to attack the compound housing the Orlu Area Command and Police Station in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Mohammed Yerima, in a release, said the army did not suffer any casualty.
