Recall, the Federal government of Nigeria, through President Mohammadu Buhari earlier, decleard the closure of many sectors in the country shuch as religious gathering, interstate travels, schools, financial institutions, businesses, offices and so on.

During the first phase of the gradual relaxation of lockdown in Nigeria, the Federal government relaxed the ban on some activities remaining the ban on interstate travels and schools.

In the second phase of gradual easing of lockdown the Federal Government relaxed the ban on interstate travels, domestic flights and so on but the ban on school reopening is yet to be relaxed.

The government came up with the first and second phase of gradual easing of lockdown due to the hardship and complains of the citizens of Nigeria.

Since the Federal government started the gradual easing of lockdown, the rate at which coronavirus cases in Nigeria is multiplying is scaring.

On the 2nd of July 2020, Six hundred and twenty six (626) new confirmed cases of coronavirus and 13 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

Till date, (27110) cases have been confirmed, (10801) cases have been discharged and (616) deaths have been recorded in (35) states and Abuja, the (FCT).

The 626 new cases are reported from 20 states which are;

Lagos (193), FCT (85), Oyo (41), Edo (38), Kwara (34), Abia (31), Ogun (29), Ondo (28), Rivers (26), Osun (21), Akwa Ibom (18), Delta (18), Enugu (15), Kaduna (13), Plateau (11), Borno (8),Bauchi (7), Adamawa (5), Gombe (4), Sokoto (1).

According to the latest update on COVID-19 in Nigeria by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, the states listed above have reported new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Till date, Seven states in Nigeria has over 1000 cases of coronavirus. In my opinion these seven states should go on another lockdown so that rate at which the coronavirus cases is multiplying in their states will reduce.

The picture below contains the list of seven states that has above one thousand (1000) confirmed cases of coronavirus-

If these States does not go on another lockdown the the high speed at which coronavirus is spreading in the state might get out of control.

What do you think? Should this states go on another lockdown, or continue their daily activities.
