Education Minister Issues Warning To Parents And Teachers, Speaks On Schools Reopening (Details)

The federal government has issued warning to parents nationwide, says they shouldn't send their ward to schools if they aren't comfortable.

Recall that the federal government had in March ordered the closure of schools nationwide, as means to curb the outbreak of the deadly virus, coronavirus pandemic.

However, the federal government through the Minister for State of Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, had disclosed on Wednesday via an interview on Channels, that the reopening of schools nationwide is only for the graduating students, specifically Students in primary 5 or 6, JSS 3 and SSS 3.

He further revealed the reopening is to enable them prepare ahead for their examination.

Nwajiuba said the federal government had put in place the necessary safety measures and guides, to ensure these set of students are safe.

While speaking on the TV, he told parents who are not comfortable with sending their wards back, to keep them at home.

He said the federal government is not forcing parents to bring their wards to schools.
