NPower: Applicants Who Chose These Two Categories Will Only Be Engaged For 6 Months

The NPower scheme which was created by the Federal Government of Nigeria as a means to help engage both the skilled and unskilled youths in Nigeria for a specified period of time began receiving applications days go. It serves as a way to help get unemployed youths off the streets as applications who are between the ages of 18-35 are the only ones allowed to apply.

The portal for online registration was opened for the Batch C applicants on 26 June, 2020 after the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disasters Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq announced that the current Batches A and B will soon be disengaged.

Since the portal was opened in late June, over one million (1,000,000) Nigerians have applied despite the scheme wanting just five hundred thousand (500,000) beneficiaries. A lot of people rushed to register without checking the new engagement period for the various programs.

The N-Teach and N-Health which used to be for a period of two years is now a one year program while the N-Tech and N-Agro is now for a period of six months.

If you applied for the N-Tech and N-Agro, you might have made a big mistake by doing so because after just six months, you will be disengaged and returned back to the labour market searching for employment without being able to gather enough money to start up a business for yourself, unlike the N-Teach and N-Health who will be in the scheme for the period of a year.

For those who have successfully applied for the NPower program since the portal was opened, make sure you study the past questions very well and also put it to God in prayers. Millions of Nigerians will be contesting for just 500,000 jobs and only God can help one secure such a job in the midst of multitude.
