There are three outstanding and talented young Nigerian artists that are making the country proud with their craft. These three acts have so far proven not just to their different record label but also to their audience that they are capable of taking over from Davido and wizkid. Honestly, this year has been their year as they have come out so far outstanding.

Joeboy

Born Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, in 21 May, 1997, but known professionally as Joeboy, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Mr Eazi discovered him in 2017 after watching an instagram video of his cover to Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You. He has done couple of great songs, in fact since he came to limelight he Has been dropping hit songs ans working with great artists in the industry. He has worked with the likes of, Tiwa savage, Mr Eazi, Dj Neptune, Guilty Beat, Ckay.

Rema

Born Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, is a Nigerian singer and rapper. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. He rose to prominence with the release of the song "Iron Man", which appeared on Barack Obama's 2019 summer Playlist. Rema is an exceptional talent with great sound and style of music. He has taken his sound in no distance time to the international level, earning recognitions from great artists like, Drake, Rihanna, and former president of America, Barrack Obama.

Fireboy.

Adedamola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is signed to YBNL Nation, an independent record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide. His debut studio album Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps was released in 2019. Fireboy has really done well for himself, releasing a project that has almost all of it's song as hit. The album, Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps is a comprehensive album of artistic expression of life. Most of the songs in the album toped chart in Nigeria and Africa at large.

These three great acts over time have given critics reasons to compare and contrast on who is the best, but the truth remains that the three artists are great and good at what they do. You can hardly tell who is better as they tend to have different sound and kind of music. But here is one reason Joeboy is ahead of Fireboy and Rema this year.

Recently Billboard released the list of the most streamed artists in Nigeria and at the top of the list is the African giant, Burna boy, with Davido and Wizkid coming ssecond and third on the list. Joeboy Made the list ahead at number 9 spot with over 106.08Million streams.

Rema and fireboy didn't make the list, that shows that Joeboy is ahead of them this 2020. He is the one with the most number of streamed songs. And you know that these days music are been sold online, most of the revenue acrued by these artists are from online sales of their music. Especially now that there is lockdown and halt of all night clubs, shows and parties, even concerts. The major platform for artists to make money now is through online sales from streaming of their songs.
