When the prices of the most expensive cars in the world are mentioned, you naturally feel this strange chilly wind blow by, making you experience “Phantosmia of Money”. With the current cream de la crop costing a dubious $19 million, equivalent to a whooping ₦6.9 billion. These are statement cars, which can only be afforded by a select few and sometimes by those specifically selected by the manufacturers of these money beasts.

Now let takes a look at the top 6 most expensive cars in the world in 2020 :

1. BUGATTI LA VOITURE NOIRE – $19 MILLION (₦6.9 billion)

Bugatti has unveiled the “La Voiture Noire” translated as “the black car” made entirely from carbon fiber. The first one of the Limited Edition car has been sold for $19 million to Ferdinand Piech, the owner of VW group. Designed by Salome Etienne, it is inspired by its predecessors Veyron and Chiron and the pre-war Type 57SC Atlantic.

Powered by an 8 liter, 16 cylinder engine that churns out a jaw-dropping 1,500 HP the car should be able to reach above 450 km/h. Bugatti has refused to reveal its performance specifications. The front is dominated by the trademark horseshoe-shaped Bugatti grill and blends into an aerodynamically swept-back design with sloping windscreen and wrap-around tail lamps.

Note :

The only person that own this car is the famous Portuguese footballer Christiano Ronaldo

2. SWEPTAIL BY ROLLS ROYCE – $13 MILLION (₦4.73 billion)

In 2013, a billionaire who has managed to keep his identity a mystery approached Rolls-Royce and asked the historic auto house to design his own custom car. The result of that legendary request was none other than the Rolls Royce Sweptail.

An homage to its impressive pedigree and money-is-no-object commission, the Sweptail features the silhouette, round doors, and tail designs of historic Rolls models—with the benefit of 21st-century technology and comfort. The ceiling of the car is one unbroken pane of durable glass, offering its driver a panoramic view of the world around him as it goes racing by.

If you, too, are looking for a car with a champagne chiller, crystal flutes, titanium analogue clocks, carbon-fibre laptop stations and even a customised hat shelf, look no further than the Rolls Royce Sweptail:one of the most expensive car you can’t buy.

3. Bugatti Centodieci - $8.9 million (~₦3.6 billion)

Centodieci means 110 in Italian. Bugatti Centodieci is built to pay homage to the EB110, a production car that helped revive the dying Bugatti brand in the 1998 bankruptcy. The Bugatti Centodieci will have only 10 units built and cost an amazing $9 million, or ₦3.6 billion. All of the mere ten units have been ordered already and will be delivered beginning in 2021.

The Bugatti Centodieci owes so much to the Bugatti Divo, with a similar powertrain that delivers 100 hp more, reaching 1600hp. It’s 8.0 liter quad-turbocharged 16-cylinder engine propels this machine to a top speed of 236 mph, clearing the (0-62) mph in about 2.4 seconds.

4. Maybach Exelero - $8 million (₦2.9 billion)

Built by German luxury car manufacturer Maybach, Maybach Exelero tops the list of the most expensive cars in the world. It costs 8 Million Dollars and can reach a top speed of 351 Kilometers per hour. During testing of the car, it reached a speed of 218.38 Miles per hour. It is also capable of acceleration from zero to 62 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds. The car was seen in Jay-Z’s music video “Lost One” in 2006. Owned by Dr. Andre Action Diakite Jackson, this car has only one model.

5. KOENIGSEGG CCXR TREVITA – $4.8 MILLION (₦1.7 billion)

Koenigsegg makes its first appearance on our list with the CCXR Trevita, and it does so as the most expensive street-legal production car in the world. Why so much coin? With no exaggeration, the car is literally coated in diamonds … and diamonds aren’t cheap.

For the Trevita, the Swedish manufacturer developed a new exterior finish called the Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave, which involves coating carbon fibers with a diamond dust-impregnated resin. We can’t even fathom how much the touch-up paint costs.

Underneath the lustrous finish lies a 4.8-liter, dual-supercharged V8 with a total output of 1,004hp and 797 pound-feet of torque, which means it should have little to no trouble overtaking semis on the freeway. The car’s specifications — in both performance and price — are nearly comical at this point, and just three were ever made.

6. LAMBORGHINI VENENO ROADSTER – $4.5 MILLION (₦1.3 billion)

Lamborghini’s poisonous Veneno starts the top five countdown.

Veneno means venom or poison in Spanish and the car certainly gives off a deadly presence.

Based on the Aventador, the Veneno was created to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary and was introduced at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

It can reach 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and its price tag makes it one of the most expensive production cars in the world!
